Discover the Four Seasons

春 Spring
As the snow melts, the highlands quietly awaken. A late spring arrives, creating a stunning contrast between the remaining snow and fresh greenery. Alpine plants like Skunk Cabbages and Marsh Marigolds begin to bloom. With fewer tourists, it is a peaceful time,
ideal for hiking and nature observation.

夏 Summer
Escape the heat in our refreshing alpine paradise. With cooler temperatures than the city, it’s the perfect getaway for a comfortable and relaxing summer.
The area is vibrant with outdoor activities like trekking, mountain climbing, and cycling. This is the peak season for alpine flowers, which bloom in great abundance. Stargazing is also a popular highlight, offering breathtaking night skies.

秋 Autumn
One of Japan’s premier spots for autumn foliage. The mountains are brilliantly colored with the vivid reds of Japanese Rowan and the bright yellows of Erman's Birch.
Thanks to the significant variation in altitude, the autumn colors can be enjoyed over an extended period. This is a breathtaking season popular among photography enthusiasts. The crisp, clear air and the cool morning and evening temperatures add to the region's charm.

冬 Winter
A world-famous snow resort, Shiga Kogen is renowned for its vast cluster of ski fields and exceptional powder snow. It attracts skiers and snowboarders from all over the globe seeking the ultimate winter experience.
Beyond skiing, you can enjoy snowshoeing and viewing the majestic "snow monsters" (frost-covered trees). Combining these winter adventures with a relaxing soak in our hot springs is a highly popular way to stay.
